Ken Crawford 2025 OCA Chair
March 27, 2025 – The Ottawa Construction Association is pleased to announce that the members of its Board of Directors have elected Ken Crawford, President of C&M Electric, as the association’s 2025 Chair.
Ken began his journey with C&M Electric at a young age and has proudly dedicated his career to the company ever since. Working his way from the ground up, he received his 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician License and over the years advanced through many roles within the company. A key was his father, Wayne Crawford, who guided him in leading the successful operation and growth of C&M Electric.
In 2017, Ken and his siblings formally took ownership of C&M Electric which now proudly operates with three generations involved. While the company has evolved since its inception in 1963, one thing has remained unchanged, which is the dedication to preserving its legacy and valuing the relationships that have been key to its success. “I have always believed that strong relationships with our employees, clients, and partners are the foundation of our success, and I take great pride in seeing this value continue to shape everything we do,” says Ken.
Ken has made a significant impact in both the electrical and construction industries. He joined the OCA Board of Directors in 2011 and later served as Chair of the Ottawa Electrical Contractors Association from 2012-2013 and Chair of the Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario from 2021-2023. Ken continues to prioritize committee and board involvement striving to make a meaningful impact while fostering lasting relationships with fellow contractors.
“My goal as 2025 OCA Chair is to advocate for the needs of our members and to strengthen collaboration within the industry. I believe that if we work together, we can navigate recent challenges and ensure a strong future for Ottawa’s construction industry”.
Ken would like to express his gratitude and appreciation to OCA President, John DeVries, for his years of dedicated service. “John has been the driving force behind the OCA for the past 27 years, and I’m honoured to say that he began his tenure with Wayne Crawford as the 1997-1998 Chair and will be concluding it during my term”.
Ken and his wife Patricia have been married for 27 years, and are the proud parents of Kassandra, Kaitlyn and Michael. As a family, they enjoy golfing, dinners out at their favourite restaurants, wake surfing and weekends at the cottage.

Well now we are back to the same issues, dressed up in a different cause. With the Trump tirade of instituting a 25% tariff on all Canadian goods and the Canadian government’s retaliatory steps in matching those tariffs dollar for dollar, where does that leave Ottawa’s construction industry?
