AI for Construction Estimating

Description

AI for Construction Estimating is a hands-on course that teaches construction estimators how to use AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Microsoft Copilot across the full bid period — reviewing bid documents, identifying scopes and trades, challenging gaps and risk, tracking addenda, communicating with subtrades, building comparison sheets, reviewing quotes, and preparing a bid sheet with qualifications. The emphasis is language, document analysis, comparison, reasoning, and communication in estimating workflows — not autonomous takeoff. Throughout the course, the source documents remain the authority and the estimator remains accountable for the bid.

Participants will learn how to use AI to:

• Review bid documents and specifications

• Identify scopes, trades, gaps, and potential risk

• Track addenda and document changes

• Draft clear communication to subtrades

• Build and organize comparison sheets

• Review quotes and identify inconsistencies

• Prepare bid sheets, qualifications, and clarifications

This course is not about replacing estimators or relying on autonomous takeoff. It focuses on using AI for document analysis, comparison, reasoning, and communication while keeping the source documents as the authority and the estimator accountable for every bid decision.

Intended Audience

Construction Estimators, and for Project Coordinators, Project Managers, and Site Staff who support estimating or takeoff workflows.
