Description

As the head of an organization or a senior leader, you are accountable for more than today's projects, problems, and priorities. You must ensure that the organization has the strategy, structure, people, and management practices required to perform consistently and succeed over the long term. The challenge is that recurring performance problems are often treated as isolated issues when they are symptoms of deeper organizational conditions.

The Performance Blueprint introduces an integrated framework for looking beneath those symptoms. Using the Organizational Tree Model, participants will examine how business model, strategy, organization design, accountability and authority, managerial leadership, and fit to role combine to shape performance, profitability, and culture. The emphasis is practical: identifying where leadership attention will have the greatest impact and understanding how changes in one part of the organization affect the others.

Participants Will Explore

  • How to distinguish visible performance symptoms from the organizational issues that may be causing them.
  • Why strategies often fail in execution, and how strategy must be translated into clear work, priorities, and accountabilities.
  • How organization design, accountability, and authority affect delegation, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • The role of managers in creating performance, engagement, and clarity, and why strong technical performers do not automatically become effective managers.
  • How to improve role fit by matching the capability, skills, knowledge, and commitment of people to the work that needs to be done.
  • How leadership practices shape culture, and why sustained improvement requires a consistent approach over time.
  • How confidential peer learning can help heads of organizations challenge assumptions, explore opportunities, and work through difficult issues with other experienced leaders.

Intended Audience

Business owners, presidents, CEOs, general managers, senior executives, functional leaders with significant organizational accountability, and next-generation leaders preparing to assume broader responsibility.
