The Ontario Newcomer Trades Action Program (ONTAP) has the goal of promoting the skilled trades as a viable career for immigrants and newcomers. ONTAP can help employers develop techniques to attract/train/retain newcomers in their workplaces and provide information on how they can help internationally trained employees through apprenticeship and trade equivalency assessment processes. We also work directly with newcomers to help them transition into careers in the skilled trades in Ontario.
